BSA CHAMP-KIDS BICYCLE
A complete range of bicycles for 4 -10 year old kids. It has been designed in various sizes and multiple economy segments. Initial market research indicates that consumers (both parent and kid) buy a product that compels them to think of it as having a higher purpose of existence. The proposed cycle has a purpose other than cycling for its existence. In overall, a bicycle that triggers kids' imagination, gives them a feeling of achievement (physical/intellectual) and connotes safety is the requirement of the day.
It is a product that connotes control, dexterity, skill, offered new challenges, trendy & comfortable, safe to ride, playful and carefully detailed. It is a holistic product which helps kids to indulge in play and move in style. In overall, it is a highly interactive bicycle that triggers kid's imagination.
The parents are looking for a higher value than the basic purpose of the product. The higher value sought for learning and challenging the limits and skills of their child.
A Kid has different reasons for liking a product, his/her reasons can be: hidden, unperceived actions in the toy, New unexplored shapes, sophisticated mechanisms and probably some different sensory perception.
SYSTEMS MODEL
Information collection is further reinforced by a cross-category study. It acts as an observation of recent trends in frequently purchased kids' items. Selected categories are apparel, footwear, accessories, books, board games, gizmos, and figurines. All toys and items purchased for the study are mapped and segregated by color, sex, size, age group, challenges offered, and complexity of play. Such cross-category product mapping helped in identifying tangibles and intangibles attributes associated with the kid's products.
CONCEPT
Cycles are entwined with our lives forever. They grow as we grow. A bond is developed with the consumer when the consumer first starts cycling. When kid is introduced to cycling, the journey starts wIth the ‘JOY OF CYCLING’ with BSA Champ. It is a gateway of child to a new world of mobility. A stage at which he is learning all the time. Entire concept of this BSA champ is evolved around play and learning.
