There are billions of people who still use paper envelopes either for personal communication or for official purpose. The production of this paper consumes lot of energy, natural resources and many manhours. In the bigger perspective paper production leads to deforestation, followed by disappearance of rare and endangered species, soil erosion and decrease in underground water supplies.
Proposed Reversible envelope is an effort towards sustainable practice of reusing the envelope by reversing it. This project was done in the year 2013 for Muji design competition. It has been indented with clear fold marks for easy reversal for its second usage life.
Concept:
The concept revolves around designing a new paper fold structure with serrations which makes it easy to reverse the envelope and use it once again. It is inspired by open box folding structures and is an effort to create a more sustainable world by reducing paper usage and reusing wherever it is possible.
