'ISHI' ( Water in Japanese)
This watch is inspired from zen philosophy. In a Zen garden as a monk rakes the surface, he is creating the texture of waves, similar to those in an ocean and the rocks represent a shore. It gives the mind time to “release, organize, and integrate specific thoughts,” and sometimes it allows for no thoughts at all. The rocks and pebbles represent an eternal element of nature in a Zen garden. “Kikyaku/ISHI is the element of earth which symbolically connects with stillness and meditative pause in the mind.
This EDGE watch takes an inspiration from pebble and represents it in the unique unibody construction of the watch. Watch is seamless just like pebbles and has a volume which gradually connects with the watch top.
This watch is simple yet an engineering marvel as it challenges existing notion of watch construction by making a seamless backcover without any opening. It houses high precision world’s slimmest analogue quartz movement (patented) which has to be assembled from top to provide a monolith watch. Top loading assembly challenges the existing notion of watch manufacturing and establishes a new benchmark for slim watches. Design is patented for its construction.
At a height of merely 4mm and weight of just 36 gms, this edge watch is thinnest and probably lightest watch in the world. This watch is a perfect amalgamation of simplicity of aesthetics with sophisticated engineering. It is for the people with exquisite taste and sensibilities.
