Global consumption of CFL and Incandescent bulb is around 3000-5000 million units yearly. In such scenario fused bulbs constitutes huge wastage of natural and economical resources and it is highly imperative to rethink the parameters which governs the system of bulb design & manufacturing.
This project was done in the year 2005 for design boom
competition. It was a shortlisted entry which got exhibited in Milan design week.
Concept direction:
Idea is to put two filaments with a separate circuitry in the bulb or a tubelight. If one fails, bulb can still be used by just switching the connection points inside the holder. This gives the product a second life
